The “coq au vin” is a classic French dish. Made with our local roosters, it creates the perfect recipe.

- 2 kg chicken pieces
- 6 small onions
- 6 cloves of garlic
- 4 cups red wine
- 2 ½ cups water
- ½ cup flour
- 300g fresh mushrooms
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
Here are the instructions to do Chicken in Red Wine
- Step 01: Combine flour, salt, and pepper in a paper bag.
- Step 02: Add chicken pieces and shake until evenly coated with flour.
- Step 03: Gently fry the chicken until golden brown, then transfer to a pot.
- Step 04: Sauté onions and garlic in the remaining oil over low heat until fragrant, then pour over the chicken.
- Step 05: Pour in wine, water, and add bay leaves. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Step 06: Serve with rice or potatoes.
* Pro tip: Sauté mushrooms separately with a little oil and add to the mixture.
